Naver’s music service VIBE announced on the 19th that it has introduced an overseas song translation lyrics service.

Through this service, users can check the original lyrics and Korean translations at a glance. Translation lyrics are supported in real time according to the flow of the song.

Vibe signed a contract with an overseas household agency earlier this year to provide the service. It officially secured the right to use pop song lyrics and the right to write secondary works.

In the case of new overseas pop songs, translation lyrics are provided within one to two weeks of release. Currently, about 20,000 songs are equipped with translation lyrics services, and 2,000 songs are being applied every month. In the second half of the year, the original lyrics and translation lyrics will be introduced when searching for songs by reflecting the translation lyrics service in the integrated search.

For smooth service, Vibe has also strengthened technical cooperation with audio tech startup Gaudio Lab, which Naver D2 Startup Factory (D2SF) invested last year. By introducing Gaudio Lab’s artificial intelligence (AI) lyric sink automatic generation solution (GTS), it reduces time to synchronize lyrics and increases accuracy of melody and lyric sink.

“We will establish a high-quality translation lyrics database (DB) and establish it as the largest music platform in Korea with lyrics data,” said Lee Jin-baek, a leader in charge of music content planning at VIBE.
