The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Industrial Promotion Agency will hold a global game biz matching consultation session SPP:GAME with SPP International Content Market 2022 in October and November.

The Seoul Promotion Plan (SPP) is a content market that began in 2001 and marks its 22nd anniversary this year, and is an international event in which various content businesses, including copyright purchase, co-production, and investment attraction, are conducted.

SPP:GAME is SPP’s game-specific biz matching event, which was first held in 2020 to reduce business opportunities and overcome difficulties of domestic small and medium-sized game companies and support stable global expansion. In 2021, 186 companies, including Microsoft, Nintendo, Xiaomi, and Garena, participated in a total of 24 countries, including the United States, China, and Japan, and 352 biz matching consultations were held for two days.




This year’s game biz matching counseling session will expand the scope of counseling to revitalize business with other content industries such as webtoons, web novels, animations, dramas and movies as well as biz matching between game developers, publishers and investors.

In consideration of the situation such as the spread of COVID-19, online counseling sessions will be held from October 31 to November 4, and offline counseling sessions will be held for two days from November 22 to 23. Networking and welcoming dinners with domestic and foreign buyers are also held at offline counseling sessions.

Related companies wishing to participate can register through the SPP website, and the first application is scheduled to be completed by September 23. Anyone who wants to match beads in the game and content fields, such as domestic and foreign game startups and developers, publishers, VCs, and IP holders, can apply for free.

Jeon Dae-hyun, head of the content division at the Seoul Business Agency, said, “The power and scalability of IPs in games are endless. We hope that the SPP international content market will serve as an opportunity to spread to various contents such as animation and webtoons as well as overseas expansion of excellent games.”
